Bahrain Senior Clerics Call to Reverse Decisions against Ayatollah Qassim, Start Dialogue
Three senior Islamic scholars in Bahrain issued a joint appeal to end violence, extremism, terror and incitement of hate and sectarianism. The scholars said their appeal is a call to the rational and wise for the love, unity and future of this homeland.
In their appeal they called to reverse the decisions taken against Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim. “These decisions represented a dangerous turning point which carries complicated consequences”, the statement said. They said the decision to revoke the citizenship of Ayayollah Qassim was “an escaalation amid a period of political, economic and security challenges and difficulties which threaten the situation in the region”.
The statement also said that starting a dialogue is “a must” to prevent the country from slipping into undesirable directions.
