Ayatollah Qassim Condoles Martyr Al-Mousawi: His Injustice Will Not Be Forgotten
Bahrain’s top religious authority, Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassem, issued a statement mourning the martyrdom of citizen Sayyed Mohammad Al-Mousawi.
Below is the full statement:
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Peace and blessings be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers, Muhammad, and his pure and immaculate family.
“And give glad tidings to the patient—
those who, when calamity befalls them, say, ‘Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed to Him we shall return.’
They are the ones upon whom descend blessings from their Lord and mercy, and it is they who are rightly guided.”
[Al-Baqarah: 155–157]
In the calculus of official policy in Bahrain—and in deference to American interests—the believing citizen is rendered devoid of worth, not even equal to the weight of an ant or the measure of a mosquito. The mutilation of his living body, culminating in death under the extremity of torture, is reduced to a grotesque instrument of gratification and a means of currying favor with those who feed upon the blood of the righteous across the world.
Yet all unfolds within the sight of God: that this righteous servant, Sayyid Mohammad Al-Mousawi, and others like him, are subjected to torment in service of a wider injustice. Indeed, God is severe in retribution, and the people of Bahrain shall not forget the injustice inflicted upon him.
May God magnify the reward of his noble father, his esteemed family, and the faithful among the people of Bahrain and the living, steadfast peoples.
