The political part of Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassim Friday Sermon

The recent Bombings:
First: The recent disturbing, unfair and painful bombings have occurred amidst raising of statements and measures leading only for the perception of more escalation. This is happening while local and international calls for a rescue-reform rise to find a permanent solution to contain the crisis and get rid of it.

Second: Any bombings that have occurred or might occur – God prevent this, are strongly rejected and condemned, whoever stands behind them. This is an outrageous disvalue of human, and there is no place for it in the sanctity of lives and the interest of this homeland, and closing the doors on chaos. All methods of violence and offensives are absolutely refused.

Third: For the white line to be distinguished from the black line, and for the vagueness to be lifted from these actions and for the real committers to be identified and condemned, there has to be an absolute impartial committee to give its objective conclusion through a transparent and impartial investigation.

Forth: My persistent and repeated opinion, that I strongly believe that other fellow clerics agree with, is that no attacks against humans or public properties, aggression acts are amongst the greatest guilts and the mostly denounced.

My view is, no violence from any party toward the other, no violence from government, and no violence from people. No violence from any party against a citizen or expat or guest in this country. No violence against any community from any citizenship, no violence against any young or elder person.

I don’t think anyone from the people who respect the clerics’ opinions can perpetrate such violent act against human or public or private property, yesterday, today or tomorrow.

Fifth: The recent bombings targeted innocent Asian workers who serve this country, and they are subjects in this country also, described by the interior ministry that they have nothing to do with all what is going on, and I confirm that they have nothing to do with any of what is happening.

Expat targeting is a denounced crime and an outrageous oppression, it is religiously, rationally and consciously condemned and justified only by dirty political interests that take no considerations of religion, conscience and the nation interest.

Such an incident confirms the need for an impartial commission of inquiry as vital necessity to the general security situation.

Sixth: It is very clear that such crimes aim to push the situation towards violence and taking the country to the unknown situation. Therefore, the people must not respond to these Satanic aspirations that deepen the crisis and drown the country into distress and more painful circumstances.

The six political societies were right by their nonviolence declaration when they declared their condemnation to all violence whatever its shape, sources, and whoever stands behind it. They are right by declaring their adherence to respect the basic rights for individuals and civil society powers. And their call for a nonviolence culture and to adhere to peaceful and civilized means to demand rights. And they are right with their declaration that they respect lives, and public and private properties. This declaration come out to emphasize the peaceful approach which has been adopted by the opposition since the beginning.

Revoking Nationalities:

It was announced that nationalities have been revoked from a number of honorable citizens that are known of their opposition views to the government and their non-violent activity. The names included Ayatollah Sheikh Hussain Najaty, Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Sanad, Sayed Alawi al-Bilady and two former MPs, Jawad and Jallal Fairuoz.

Opposite opinions must be faced with opinions, and facts with facts, it is not known that political dissidents are punished by revoking citizenship or even lower than this punishment, and  this is what all human rights organizations and human rights covenants say.

Resorting to force and closing all doors of reform and blocking its entire paths will never present resolution to any kind of problem in any nation.

Resolution can only come through reform, goodness all goodness comes by speeding reform, neither by ignoring it nor maneuvering it.

The need for reform is a just and right, the necessity that living cannot be upright without  the desperate need for stabilizing the community, reform is the slogan that will never be buried, and the call that will never die.
