Statement of Ayatollah Qassem, regarding the imposed war against Yemen
Statement of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassem, on February 5, 2022, regarding the imposed war against Yemen
In the name of of Allah the most compassionate, the most Merciful
How far the war on Yemen from Islam!
In the verse 29 of Surat Al-Fath in the Holy Qur’an, it is stated: {Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allah. And those with him are firm with the disbelievers and compassionate with one another}.
The holy prophet Muhammad (May God bless him and his progeny) and those who follow his Islam and his divine approach are firm against the infidels and their disbelief, because of the corruption caused by this disbelief across the globe, and its violation of God’s laws. Yet, this firmness against the infidels must not make Muslims transgress justice and involve in oppression and corruption.
Yemen is a Muslim country, and its people are among the longest-standing Muslim nations, and among the most staunch ones in their defense of Islam, and in their pride and redemption for its sake.
Indeed, the proper Islamic treatment by the Muslims of the Yemeni people must be merciful.
But how far away the aggressive war against Yemen from what the Qur’anic verse imposes on the Muslims.
How is it permissible for governments affiliated with Islam and ruling Islamic countries to allow the squandering of Muslim blood for their own people and the people of Yemen?
Where is this position on the two vital attributes of the Islamic nation as per the aforementioned verse (firm with the disbelievers) and (compassionate with one another)?!
In other verses, it is stated: {If two parties of the believers happen to fight, make peace between them. But then, if one of them transgresses against the other, fight the one that transgresses until it reverts to Allah’s command. And if it does revert, make peace between them with justice, and be just for Allah loves those who are just} / {Surely the believers are none but brothers unto one another, so set things right between your brothers, and have fear of Allah that you may be shown mercy} ~ Surah Al-Hujurat, 9-10.
The Islamic responsibility, according to the two noble verses, stipulates that when two parties fight, the believing nation must reconcile between them. If one of them transgresses against the other, the nation must confront it until it stops its aggression. Then, if it reverses that, reconciliation is a must. This reconciliation must be based on justice, with an emphasis on being a truly just reconciliation as stressed by the verse (reconcile between them), adding to that (and be just, for God loves those who are just).
The second verse stresses that the believers are essentially brothers. This brotherhood is a prerequisite for faith and both are inseparable. Besides, this brotherhood is necessary for the faith of any Muslim and does not cease from it; the full and sincere faith of those who violate is not approved.
The Qur’anic verse calls for reconciliation between the two warring factions of believers, a reconciliation based on the piety of God, a piety that does not accept neglect or separation from God’s approach and His just rulings.
Today, many of the nation’s governments’ positions regarding the hostile war on Yemen support the aggression, flatter and favor it, at the expense of truth, and contrary to justice.
How far is the nation from the Islamic values, rulings and teachings in its current position on the aggressive and unjust war on Yemen.
There is no objective argument that can be invoked in support of this war, or overlook the efforts to stop it and compensate for the great losses that befell this dear Islamic country. There is no excuse for exerting insufficient efforts to halt the war and compensate for the great losses endured by this dear Islamic nation.
Yemen is really oppressed, really attacked, part of it is occupied, rained day and night with deadly air strikes, with continuous aerial incursions, which spare no elderly, no child, no school, no hospital, no animal wealth, no trees, no plants, no infrastructure.
It is a comprehensive war of aggression that targets all aspects of life against the Muslim country, at the hands of neighboring Islamic countries, in fulfillment of the US’s arrogant desire, wish, and based on its practical support.
It can be said that it is a dirty war, according to religion and human conscience, as it imposes a siege on food and medicine to starve the vulnerable, the safe, the children and the elderly. Who are murdered are those who utter: “There is no lord but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah” only to please those who express hostility to Islam.
It is an obligation for every Muslim, each from their positions, to assist their Islam and faith by the extent of: their concern for the affairs of Muslims and their countries; their support for them in their plight based on their capability; their grief for their sadness and rejoice for their righteous victories.
We will not be one nation, nor brothers until we are like one body, [as stressed by Prophet Muhammad Pbuh: The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches].
