Ayatollah Qassim in a statement on Bahrain’s slogan for the Ashura season: Let our declaration, “With a Supported Imam,” be a painful slap in the face of disbelief, hypocrisy and injustice

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

There is no Islam without the Imamate, there is no life for the Quran truly – as deserved – without an imam, and there is no imam in Islam, but those who are chosen by God through His knowledge, wisdom, and mercy.

There is no consistent evidence – from the Quran or the Sunnah – that God Almighty bestowed the Imamate on anyone of the Nation of Islam other than Ahlul-Bayt (members of the family of Prophet Muhammad) peace be upon them. There has been no claim by anyone – other than them – that he was granted the Imamate by a text from God and a text from His Messenger (peace be upon him and his family).

As for the Imamate of Ahlul-Bayt (peace be upon them), the Quran and the Sunnah tell you sufficiently about it, and their pure biography shows it.
As Islam had been since its beginning – until the death of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) – a book from God that is not approached by falsehood from anywhere, and a messenger from God Almighty that is an informer, teacher, sanctifier and Imam. Similarly, Islam can only survive by the Quran and the guardian, who is an informer, teacher, sanctifier and Imam that is not separated from the Quran, nor the Quran is separated from. There is no such Imam except those to which the words of the Prophet – who does not speak from his own inclination – apply, “Verily, I am leaving behind two precious things (thaqalayn) among you: the Book of God and my kindred (`itrah), my household (Ahl al-Bayt), for indeed, the two will never separate until they come back to me by the Pond.” – Fada’il al-Khamsa mina al-Sihah al-Sita, V. 2, P. 59.

Then comes the Muslim’s speech addressing Ahlul-Bayt of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), “With you… with you, not with your enemy,” as an accurate Islamic speech, expressing the sincere faith in God and the Prophet and the adherence and faithfulness to Islam.

The phrase “With a Supported Imam” is a necessity of Islam and an answer to a fundamental cause in it; the structure of Islam is not safe without it, and if it was lost, a big part of Islam would be lost and a lot of its light and mercy would be gone.
This phrase comes as a living Islam, a strong faith, an arrow in the heart of Satan, and a painful slap in the face of disbelief, hypocrisy and injustice, if it comes out of awareness, knowledge, truthfulness, seriousness, willpower, determination and de-prioritization of the self – or what is considered valuable – for the sake of Allah and in disregard for everything in comparison with God’s right, which is priceless and no one can be thankful enough for it.
Let our slogan, “With a Supported Imam” – the divine imam, the savior of the world from the evil of all tyrants, the awaited al-Qaem – be a fixed, unshaken idea in the mind, a deep, unforgotten feeling in the self, a sincere, resounding, irreversible word on the tongue, and a concrete, heroic, serious, comprehensive and permanent support for the Imam, for Islam, and for all its causes and the causes of Muslims.
