Bahraini leading clerics issue statement on the Kuwait terror attack

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful

The region is experiencing great dangers that have put security and stability under risk. The continued temerity of terrorism is partly an indication of these risks. What happened in Kuwait, most recently, and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other places in the region represent horrific alarms for caution and alertness and united efforts to face this destructive terror.

The temerity of terrorism is continuing and it is destroying houses of God, in the holy month and targeting God’s worshippers, taking tens of lives and wounding hundreds as they stand for prayers.

This crazy temerity will continue as long as its incubators that feed terrorism and extremism are existent and supported without deterrent. Although these incubators are clear, and the bare statements of the producers of extremism and terrorism. As long as these incubators are not besieged and drained, the meddling with lives, spread of terror and destruction of homelands will not stop.

The shy denunciation statements are not enough, nor are the nominal measures that fall short of establishing real combat of and eradication of the producers and incubators of extremism and terrorism in Muslim societies.

The most important protector against terrorism and extremism would be real reforms that can address the crisis of the peoples and halt discrimination between different sects and beliefs that establish for a culture of coexistence, love and tolerance, not a culture of takfir, incitement and hate.

Reforming the politics, amending the curriculums and rationalizing the media and purifying the tribunes all besieges the environments that endorse and make terrorists and extremists.

In the awakening of the flagrant attack on the Imam Sadiq mosque in Kuwait, we declare our strongest condemnation of this imprudent act. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and the people of Kuwait. May God’s mercy be upon the martyrs and may the wounded get well soon. We pray to God to protect our homelands.
