During a televised address today, August 14th, 2020, Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassim said:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Reopening shopping malls, markets, swimming pools and gyms, and in return, the restrictions that have been issued against the upcoming Ashura annual commemorations are [the Manama authorities’] way of saying: “We reject [the Hussaini heritage], [the Hussaini heritage] must be eliminated.” A real war is waged against [the Hussaini heritage]. This is what I comprehend and whoever claims otherwise, let them clarify to us.
