Suspending Friday Prayer is a Vice
Statement by Ayatollah Qasim and Sayed Alghuraifi
Suspending Friday Prayer is a Vic
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful the Most Beneficent,
And peace be upon his messenger Muhammad and his family.
The Friday Prayer is an obligation that has been legislated to be practiced collectively and not individually. It is an Islamic obligation that no sect has disagreed on or doubted.
The regime’s suspension of the Prayer, whilst the conditions to practice it are existent, is a vice which needs not to be ignored. Further, a political system that respects Islam is not expected to impose such suspension.
For a number of weeks, the Friday Prayer in the Imam Sadiq Mosque, in Duraz, has been repeatedly suspended by preventing the Imam who was chosen by the worshippers from entering the area to lead the Prayer. And when worshippers chose another Imam, who has not led the Prayer before though having religious capacity, he was also prevented from reaching the mosque on Friday. In both occasions justifactions were not presented.
It is therefore our duty to declare our refusal to this as our demand to lift this ban and suspension persists and is most urgent and important. No one can approve of such a ban.
Our demand to lift the ban on the Friday Prayer in Durazed by an Imam whom the worshippers agree on is very serious and persistent.
