Bahrain: A Continued Movement and a Ruthless Brutality
Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qasim issued a statement today, 11th January 2015, stating that the scene in Bahrain today is a continued reform movement in the face of the ruthless brutality that aims to end this movement through various forms of violence and suppression. Qassim said the arrest and continued detention of Sheikh Ali Salman, Secretary General of Al Wefaq National Islamic Society and main opposition leader, comes within the Authority’s repression of the people’s movement. He added Salman’s stance and speech since the beginning of the movement prove his innocence from the charges he is facing and his refusal to the context of these charges.
He stated that the people today have practically said, through their reformative movement, that no matter how suppressive the regime becomes, and despite of all the killings, arrests and harsh laws, the people of Bahrain will never abandon their leaders and prisoners and will never abandon a a single demand they have raised, stressing that, ” These are necessary demands which reform cannot fall short of”.
He added, “As to peacefulness; this cannot be separated from the movement of the people.
“Being peaceful does not mean that we’re not serious, nor does it give a negative insight to the movement.
He addressed the regime in his statement with a firm tone saying, ” You are seeking the impossible by trying to stop the people’s movement before their demamd for reform is achieved.
“The movement will not stop until all demands are achieved.
The people’s movement will continue demanding reform. They are willing to face all kinds of repression and terrorism by the regime for this sake.
The more repression the people face the stronger they get and the more committed they become to continue their movement until all their demands are achieved.
