Ayatollah Isa Qassim: Two years since the beginning of the revolution and nor a step toward reform

The second part of Friday Prayers Sermon for Ayatollah Shaikh Isa Ahmed Qassim Imam of the Grand Mosque in Duraz (Imam Al-Sadiq Garand Mosque) 18th January, 2013.

Laudable Stance..

The politics in Bahrain worked on fueling the spirit of sectarianism and creating sectarian divide as well as sectarian clashes especially when the movement for demands and reform began – and this led to turn the conflict from its political nature to sectarian nature. The dispute which was between government and people turned to a popular conflict between two sects as the authority begs the support from one sect at the expanse of the another sect.

There have been voices which benefit from this situation and therefore they supported the authority’s trend which is based on creating hatreds and igniting the fire of sedition and sectarianism as much as it is possible. This trend serves the sectarian divide in more than one Islamic and Arab country and helps the success of this divide which leads these poor countries to devastation.

However, the opposition here was and still is smart, thanks to its laudable, honorable, and blessed stance as it stood stubbornly against this approach and initially maintained the objective of the national Islamic unity. The opposition did not respond to the provocations of the authority and its followers – who were trying to ignite the fire of sedition and turn the course of events from the political track to the sectarian track.  The opposition stepped away from everything that serves this destructive goal or any initiative which is about to burn this beloved homeland.

On the other hand, the provocations of the government and its followers tried to target that street of opposition – however, this street was smarter and did not meet any effort made on the path of that destructive goal. The opposition is pious and devout in a way that it does not accept to start a battle with their brothers in religion and homeland – a battle which the two parties will lose for the interest of the third party which wants to harm both of them – while this third party knows that God does not accept this division and this strife.

The stance of this street which was wanted from it to confront their brothers – was honorable, blessed, and deserves appreciation from each one fair monitor.

In line with its stance that rejects to enter into the dark tunnel of sectarianism, the opposition distanced and protected this homeland from the interferences of the sectarian conflict which Al Jahiliyah and the tricks of policies tried to raise. Such interferences live at the expanse of the nation’s bloodshed, pains, and conflicts and present it services to the nation’s enemies.

No word came from the opposition that is in favor of the objectives of spreading the discord among Muslims or immersing the country in the fire of sedition as the opposition denounced the sectarian divide in any Muslim country and demanded the door of sedition to be blocked and closed.

May God protect every Muslim area from the devil of ignorant divides and scatters. May God preserve the unity of Islam and Muslims and cut any political traitorous hand that plots against Islam and Muslims’ interests; any hand grows the seeds of sectarian sedition among the nation’s rows and ignites sectarian fire for the sake of the material and enemies’ interests.

Bahrain’s people with its all components that love goodness and safety for this homeland, respect the Islamic and national unity, and appreciate the humanity – have to take a lesson from any country plagued by sectarian sedition because of the ignorant’s deceit, enemies, and the dirty politics as it is known that fear, weakness, and misery spread in any plagued country and then the fire of sedition beats it and its components.

Bahrain’s people should not respond to opportunist voices that sacrifice all the interests of the others, their lives, holy sites, and sanctities only for their material pleasures and their aspirations of positions and gains.

Such opportunist voices call for divide and strife between people of the same and common religion, homeland, interest, and destiny.

Dear people of all classes, segments, and components: meet these desperate and miserable sounds with awareness, strong refusal, united sound, and one united stance that calls for reform, condemns evil, and rejects the policies of corruption.

An anomaly situation

the movement of reform, change, and revolution is a reality that the Arab arena Arabian witness since two years till today, and all the Arab regimes that witnessed this movement in their lands has responded to the demands and aspirations in different degrees. Some of them responded to the first sign in order to decrease losses and prevent the unknown future, some of them responded after a while, some resisted a lot then they responded, but it was too late, it ended up with their falling, and some are still living a crucial and fierce battle.

Even the new governments that produced by what was termed Arab Spring had faced opposition.

It seems -of all or some of them – that they do not want to repeat the experience of the governments that came as an alternative by revolutions, as they are taking the tyrannical force path to change situation and cause the abhorrent.

And thus the new governments tend to understanding and dialogue, and offer all the possible concessions. Bahrain is the unique among all the countries of the Arab movement, and the authority here is extremely odd, it is totally unlike the path taken by governments that witnessed this movement in its various levels.

Here – in Bahrain-, there is a reform demand and nothing is done about reform, there is a peaceful demanding faced by force violence, there is a violence denounce faced by practical violence and a call for violence.

Two years since the beginning of the revolution, the second year is about to end and there is no delinquency of authority to hear the advice, nor a step towards reform.

For the ongoing situation in Iraq, the wise religious authority with its religious consciousness,  practical foresight, and its maturity and wisdom, its deep sense of faith, its heavy legitimacy responsibility, and its appreciation for the nation interest; it raised the mature reformist opinion which is based on Islamic and national vision, and all that is aimed to defuse sedition that threatening Iraq, in order to unite Iraq with all its components in the right direction and on the correct path, which gives each Iraqi the security, stability and freedom, full rights, and this is always the attitude of religious authority and scholars.
