The second part of Friday Prayers Sermon for Ayatollah Shaikh Isa Ahmed Qassim Imam of the Grand Mosque in Duraz (Imam Al-Sadiq Garand Mosque) 7th Safar 1434 Hijri,21stDecember 2012.
Bahrain is fine!
There are two opposing teams in Bahrain. Each team says this from the point of view that matches their orientations and what they want.
The team, which includes the government and their supporters, says: things turned out to be fine, bad things went away and the problem faded away.
Why? Is it because the country has come out of its crisis irreversibly? Or is it because the situation has been corrected? Is it because the injustice changed to justice? Or because the corruption turned to a reform?
Because problems between the government and the oppositions solved, giving the nation a chance of stabilization and recovery? Or has the Constitution – the reason of argument – been settled in a way it gets the approval of people?
Because people turned to be convinced of the government’s ideal justice? Are all the files causing conflicts have been done and ended with right and justice?
No! Nothing at all has been achieved as the ground and reality witness.
So why do they say Bahrain is fine? It is unknown!
While all we find in fact that prisons are filled, strict procedures, if not escalating, are still in continuation.. number of martyrs is increasing.. not even one of the files behind the crisis and its exacerbating is solved. Depriving the citizenship is renewed and restricting the religious practices and freedom of expression has even increased. A large number of religious men andHussaini pulpit orators have been summoned!! All that has increased the public discontent, it widened the gap between the disputing parties in the arena of our homeland.
It might be said there is nothing wrong with all this if it achieved the desired result and the important goal? And what is it?
This desire represented in silencing the call for reform and change. This goal is the opposition’s defeat. It is to keep people silent despite injustice, to make things remain similar to the previous and to defeat the voice of the freedom. It is to stop anyone from demanding the right and to make people patient about marginalization, deprivation, and discrimination even if they are compelled and under tremendous pressure.
However, the answer for this desire came when the voice which demands right, change, reform and freedom has never stopped or faded or backed down or hidden. The answer is that.. whenever the oppression, tyranny, and cruelty increased in the face of that voice.. the voice will increase and widen with greatness, determination, and stubbornness.
The result of giving up to the corruption and retreating from demanding the rights due to the policies of torture, violence, terrorism, and oppression -which this viewpoint believes of its goodness in spite of its bad method since it is contrary to religion, right, justice, a the state’s interest- will be just an illusion in the mind for those who expect it today, tomorrow, and forever!! It is impossible for this people to retreat from demanding the fair rights with the presence of their awareness, determination, keenness, suffering, and struggle.
What is the other point of view who believes that Bahrain is fine?!
The opposition is well aware that crisis still exists, situation is tiring, the country is affected.. and losses are successive.
All this will be painful for anyone has a fear and jealousy on religion, humanity, and nation and for anyone that appreciates human, resources, stability, and security.
Despite all this, Bahrain is still fine as we note today that its human being owns increasing awareness, awake conscience, more understanding of religion, correct vision, strong belonging to Islam. Bahrain’s people today are adherent to freedom and have faith in change and reform. Human being in Bahrain has good intention, love for goodness, determination, keenness on Islamic and national brotherhood, respect for humanity, determination, spirit of giving, and a soul of sacrifice. Human being in Bahrain is not reckless, neither vain nor violent. He has no tendency to violence or terrorism and he is not away from the values of religion, wisdom, sanity, and long vision.
This type of human being and personality is a key for goodness and point for big hopes. This kind of person is a wealth for any nation that aspires to advance, glory, justice and prosperity.
This type of person represents the most important basis forbuilding glorious nations. Any nation finds such person in it – will be glorious and all its situations will be corrected, if God willing.
Also, nation without reform means that its problem will remain without solution. People realize this … outside realizes this …. The government itself realizes … then, does the authority wait for a change of formula in order to be absolved from reform?
First of all: reform is necessary under any new imposed formula … unless devil or loss wanted to this country. The government shall not wait from people of this nation to give up their freedom or rights or dignity or anything from religion or what the nation’s interest requires – this interest which will not be saved without a serious and genuine reform.
If any government targeted its citizens in order to make them forget their freedom, religion, and their nation’s interest, there will be no government with such worse intention or more evil one.
The government’s function is to build not to demolish … to reconstruct not to damage… to reform not to spoil. If the government did the opposite of its function, it loses its consideration totally and there will be no divine or ground legitimacy for it in the eyes of any sane.
Delay of reform and reluctance to it are only done by an authority that does want not goodness for its nation.
Regarding this Islamic country, Muslims shall be pleased everywhere – yet – the thing proceeds in the opposite direction because here discos are opened … mosques are demolished… ones who seek to worship Allah are fought … and the prayers are forbidden.
Your people will not forget you..

Here in Bahrain.. people will not forget you.. their suffering increases your recall as a favor for you.. their suffering increases the deep need for your role.
People love you and appreciate you.. their disaster increases their love and appreciation for you.. since they are affected with your loyalty, sincerity, sacrifices, resistance and courage.
People in Bahrain are inspired by your lessons.. every day your memory will be a motivation for people on the way of reform, freedom, dignity and choosing self determination in a civilized and peaceful way that comply with Sharia’s requirements and Islamic religion’s regulations.
People here will remain loyal to you.. for you were that responsible person on your nation’s resources.. for you did not give up demanding your rights.. for you did not hesitate in reclaiming his freedom and dignity.
You were a teacher for Bahrain’s people.. You will remain a teacher.. People will always remember your favor.
