Ayatollah Qassim: We call for reform, we condemn bombings and the spread of fear, we work on inclusive security

Ayatollah Skeikh Issa Qassim gave a speech Wednesday night (17 July 2013) at the  yearly Ramadan meeting with the families of the martyrs, held by Al Wefaq National Islamic Society in Sar.

In his speech he stressed, “We call for reform, we condemn bombings and the spread of fear”. He added, “we work on inclusive security, particularly the security of our religion and our honor before the security of our bodies. We do not call for the security of ourselves only, we call for the security of all people on Earth.  We want for every human on Earth to enjoy intellectual, spiritual, moral and humanitarian security”.

He clarified, ” The Islamic nation is the nation of martyrdom, and martyrdom is far from the idea of hostility, oppression and the disvalue of the human. Martyrdom does not make us bombers nor terrorists nor violent people. Martyrdom makes us wholly reformists, with a spirit for positive change and victory to justice and to God’s norms and to humanity”.

“Here, by faith, we must be generous to sacrifice our blood for the goals of Allah but not to waste our blood and others’ blood in other goals. We must be restraint and disciplined by our religion and learn from our saint leaders”, he said.
