Ayatollah Qassim: People follow a clear path and insist on victory as well.

Ayatollah Qassim: Mosques are not offered for sale or purchase… People follow a clear path and insist on victory as well.

Friday speech (533) Muharram 29, 1434 / December 14, 2012 – Imam Sadiq Mosque in Diraz

Dear beloved ones…

The title is “What is the path… What is the goal?”:

People of Bahrain follow a clear path and have a clear goal. There must be a change … there must be a reform.

The opposition political societies have pointed out a certain level ofv nbcsf the necessary reforms; they express their commitment to the peaceful approach and renounced violence from all parties – as it is mentioned in Manama’s Document and the Declaration of Non-violence Principles.

No low-level demands in all the Arab movements as the ones demanded by Bahraini societies and Manama’s Documents.

No commitment to the peace in all the Arab movements as it is in Bahrain.

No stressing and emphasizing on the peaceful approach in any place as it is here – which is directed by all Bahrain’s religious men, political societies, and politicians.

In all Arab governments, there is no more stringent and uncompromising government confronting the fair demands as Bahrain’s government.

On the other hand… which path does the government choose? And what is the goal chosen by the government?

And which end for the crisis that the government will choose?

A soon reform should have its signals, but there are no signals for such thing and what is on reality is more close to the opposite.

The postponed reform that will come after a long term – if there is any – will open doors widely for the state’s violence and this violence will bring dangers and risks to the country. These dangers will destroy all the bridges, excrete grudges, and cause destruction as well.

What is the solution?

What is a mercy for this country … what the mind requires … what the justice obliges … what the right determines and what the country’s interests impose … is the so close, serious, genuine, and essential reform.

If this is what the government will do … it is a bless. If it is not, then the government would have wasted this country forever.

The government has to establish a new relationship with its people, which should stem from a new view. The view of the new relationship should value people highly and admit their main role in the political process. This view also should be aligned with religion and human’s dignity and admit human rights as well as accept people’s priority in choosing their life’s path and fate. This view must consider human being as the basis for any political relationship between the two parties; as it is the reality of the relationship in the developed countries and this is what political life in general tends to nowadays.

That view which considers people and land only properties to an authority that imposes itself by force and oppression … which gives the authority right in controlling wealth and people for its sake and without the will of people … is an outdated and cannot be admitted or accepted in any place on the earth by any people… nor the time will surrender to such view.

Keeping Bahrain away from reform and its people isolated from considering and determining their fate in addition to criminalizing those who demand their rights lead to make Bahrain an abnormal case … as if Bahrain is not from this era or lives in different time.

When people decide that they do not want war or violence or terrorism… when they decide to either live with dignity or die with honor… when they sacrifice their lives for dignity … they cannot be blamed or criticized or criminalized or distracted by anything or defeated.

The resolution of Bahrain’s people was to distance themselves away from the path of terrorism, reject the violence’s approach, and to demand their rights as long as they are alive, insisting on the real and serious reform, complying with religion in a peaceful and civilized manner.

This people insist on victory since this victory represents a retrieval of rights and justice and such victory will lead for treating citizens as equals, strengthening national and Islamic brotherhood in this country and fixing people instead of authority as the reference in the public affairs – such reference will have a complete loyalty, comprehensive trusteeship, and total obedience.

Such victory will be for all people of Bahrain, not only one troop. It will be for the entire nation not only a part of it. This victory will not include injustice and prosecution neither it will cause destruction of someone or humiliate anyone.

People who have such intention, goal, and determination will not be blamed or defeated. Such people will achieve such goal, if God is willing.

All the methods failed to stop the path for victory and all the other ways which will try to the same will fail, God willing.

The policies of creating thousand problems and solving some problems for the purpose of keeping away from the serious solutions, have no effect and would prove their failure if adopted again.

The increase of the problems and night crises simulates a strong interest and focus on solving the basic problem and the source for all the sub problems – which is the political problem.

As for condemning violence, it had been repeated many times from the opposition’s parties before the Declaration of Non violence Principles and after it. Now it’s the authority turn to condemn and renounce the violence’s acts performed by its bodies. The condemnation should be honest and clear. There also have been several calls from the opposition for reform to exit the crisis. Now it’s the government’s turn to respond to these calls without any delay. If the government considers the serious dialogue an introduction for the reform, the opposition has been calling for it for years, before the recent popular movement as well as during it and even after it.

If the authority wants to end the crisis, it has to respond seriously to the issue of dialogue, provide the suitable atmosphere for making the attempt successful and to overcome with a courageous decision the voices within it or for its affiliates which consider the dialogue a sin and try its best to disable the solution, deepen the crisis and burn our home.

Regarding Sayed Ahmed Al Majed, his state of health and safety is disturbing to all of us, to everyone who respects the right of citizenship, the citizen’s dignity, and freedom of expression…  and to everyone who appreciates human being highly, faith, and knowledge.

Regarding the mosques,

One meter mosque is nothing to the vastly thousands meters areas which are not for mosques. The mosques are not for trade and not offered for sale and purchase. Their sites cannot be compensated with other sites whatever strategic they are.

Regardless of mosque’s historical or chronological sides and not to mentionthe their objective implications which show especial values, we have to concentrate particularly on the sanctity of mosques and the necessity of Muslim’s caring of them.
